Help with Paypal refund

I have only had two minor issues on Reverb. Once as a Seller and once as a Buyer.

As the seller, I sold an extra pickup I got from a deal that I did not need so I sold it without installing it first and that was my fault. The screws were stripped and I guess there was a hairline crack on one of the bobbins that I did not see.

The buyer sent a message about this, I apologized explained how I was unaware and offered a full refund and he returns the pup or a 50% refund. He accepted 50% and left good feedback.

As a buyer I bought a set of 12ax7. Worst pack job ever, they literally put them all in a single sandwich baggie and then into a box like wtf lol. A few of them broke and I sent them a picture and commented on their piss poor packing job. They offered to send me an entire new set of 8. So I got 6 free tubes and was happy.

Moral of the story, whoevers fault it is needs to man up, resolve the issue and everyone is happy.
 
Seller is the shipper, so why are you dealing with the claim again?

That said, CALL Reverb. Don't bother with email.
 
Bummer that's a cool guitar. And yeah, I'd call rather than email for pretty much anything I thought was important.

That is what it is. And yes, there is no standard guard to find anywhere. It would cost me a lot to fix etc. I will call Reverb based on advice here. I will give them until tomorrow to contact me back. I did some online chat deal with them and have been in contact.

Seller is lame - man up and refund the money for your poor packing job.....jeesh. People!
 
It should be a shipping claim with Fed Ex. The claim can be initiated by either party, but it needs to be settled between the shipper and the carrier-not the recipient. Also, Fed Ex won't pay for anything if they determine that it wasn't packaged up to their standards, or if there was no insurance on it to begin with. Judging by what you've mentioned about this seller, I'd say both of these things are true.

Considering the situation, your best bet is to go through paypal. They will most likely take actions such as freezing funds in his account until he responds, or settles the claim.

Personally, I'd strongly consider fixing it and getting reimbursed for the repairs (unless everything has to be original).

The guitar was packed poorly. Reverb has responded and said I deserve a full refund. I am still working with PayPal too.
