Help with this Jackson RR

Calling the RR experts: Seller claims it is Japan made, no particular evidence provided. The serial is "missing". From what I can say, it looks like quality parts used, but what do I know...

Any idea? Looks exactly as something I would be looking for (if MIJ).

Is there a serial number on the last fret? What year is the seller claiming it to be? There's something off to me about the pick guard install and two knobs instead of three. There are few years when these color combinations were available, but dig in:

A few things were off for MIJ and especially the year, 3 piece instead of scarf joint, unfinished neck, "off pick guard," two knobs. Pretty positive this is the RRT-5 model and not MIJ, but Indonesia:

Thanks man! I asked for the year, but did not receive any reply yet. Anyway, it seems you solved it already. It looks like the sticker with the serial has been removed - the glue residue is on the "right spot". Everything else matches too. Will pass on this one.

As in they numbered the fret wire or the fret board?
Never seen that that I can recall...

All american or japanese neckthru Jacksons have the serial on the fretboard overhang after the last fret.
