Just picked up an Eventide Timefactor and need some input. I have both switches set to line level. I want to use with all channels, what loop series or parallel? Killdry on or off? Any other suggestions. This is the only thing I run in the loop. Also can you give me some settings to use, looking for a good lead delay and something nice for cleans. Thanks guys!

To have all options I would run it serial.
Please check the best level settings
because our loop levels are not that high.

Thanks for the comments guys, need more help.
Hooked it up to the serial loop, both switches line level, killdry on.
When I play a note I don't hear it but hear the delay repeats.
Where do you normally set the MIX or how do I adjust it properly.

Seems to me that going through a serial loop with killdry on means that only the effected signal is coming out of the output jack. I thought the killdry feature was for use with a parallel effects loop.

Use kill dry only if you're running in the parallel loop. Killing the dry in the serial loop will give you only the delayed signal.

just turn killdry off.

the timefactor is an amazing pedal, the updates are always great. i hope you've either gotten a brand new one or gotten around to updating it, as it allows you to name patches on top of great presets.

Thanks guys, understand now.
So what does everyone prefer.
Series killdry off or parallel killdry on?

I put my Timefactor in the parallel loop of the VH4 with killdry on - not a fan of any kind of tone shaping of the dry signal! That said, it goes through the serial loop on my Mark IV and doesn't seem to tone shape that much - so just try both and see what works for you.

everything thru serial loop. none of that killdry stuff, just put it post preamp for me! the loops sound excellent on the Diezels anyway!

Series killdry off or parallel killdry on?
I have the stereo VH4 head... I love the TF, and have used it in both the parallel 100% wet, and serial positions. Due to the fact I dig the panning effects of it running in stereo, I've used it subtly in parallel, and more accentuated in the serial loop.

Bottom line, and just as an aside - when I got into Eventide stuff a number of years ago, I'd always familiarize myself with the stomp IN FRONT of the amp first. There's a bit of a learning curve with the Factor series pedals. I found by having it in front and 'right there' for me to adjust, I got to know it well - as I did with the ModFactor and the PitchFactor. After getting to know it well, I figured out where the various presets/patches would work best, and this is why it's always changing for me. Once of the reasons I never stamped my TF to a pedalboard was because it was too complex to hold down - mono/stereo, serial/parallel, etc. If you do go with serial, make sure the spillover is activated (personal preference of course).

Good luck,
V.
