Help - Xmas gift (Jackson or ESP)

So my buddy is a lefty and his wife wants to get him a Jackson SL1 Soloist in white. Last year he told me he wanted a ESP Custom M-II in White. I found an ESP but can't find the Jackson anywhere. Any ideas?

- Would you be pissed if you really wanted the Jackson and your wife got you the ESP? They are pretty much the same price. I know if my wife bought me any two thousand dollar guitar I would be :rock: out with my C**K out happy. Anyways any help is appreciated.

I suppose the quality is pretty similar between them, but they don´t feel the same. A typical SL1 and a typical MII have quite different neck shapes, with the MII being flatter and the SL more like a LP Slim 60´s, and although both have compound radius there´s something in the fretting that´s different as well. I guess what I´m trying to say is that if he´s played the MII and likes it the SL1 isn´t exactly the same... even though it´s much, much cooler in my book :D
 
Thanks guys. Looks like she should have worked on this a lot sooner. Man us righties have no idea how lucky we truly are.
 
Just one more bump I still got nothing for her. Man this sucks.

I am thinking this will be a custom order item. Even if I got a recept for a guitar that was custom ordered for christmas and had to wait , I would just be more than happy. The ESP guitars are also awesome. I think the custom lefty Jackson sound a little fuller than the ESP. That is just a personal preferance.
 
Yeah, finding a white lefty neck-thru MII or Soloist in stock somewhere sounds like a nightmare on short notice. It´s probably easier to find the ESP, though, since they basically only come in black and white. The Jackson is available in a boat-load of finishes, so the chance of finding that one color in lefty seems a bit slim.

They only come in black in the US - White MII's have never been sold here and are only sold in Europe/Germany/Australia/Japan. I had to do a special custom order for the colour, and while i was at it i changed the neck profile.
 
Yes true on black only - walk into a guitar store and see how many production new MII's in snow white you see.

It applies to brand new models that dealers do not custom order and stock themselves.

Also with a new MII you have a lifetime warranty on the neck should anything happen to it.

ALSO ESP is canceling the ability to do custom special orders. If you want a colour change it will be a full on custom order now.

I already went through this process and waited the 1.5 years. Getting lucky with a dealer that has already done the grunt work is not the same as walking into a store with a specific colour in mind.
 
I am glad at least a few dealers are doing the grunt work. At least there are a few different options out there.
 
Some good information here guys I think she is going to order the ESP from XLguitars and be done with it. Hopefully they have a return policy and hopefully she won't need it.
