This is becoming a pain in the ass.....

I have a brand new Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ I just bought yesterday. It's still in the box so could be returned.

I have a Strymon Blue Sky and Strymon Brigadier, both of which require 250 mA.

The Pedal Power 2+ only has two jacks that provide 250 mA. The other six jacks are spoken for by other pedals on my planned board.

I wanted to get a Strymon Orbit as well, but it needs 250 mA as well!

Is anyone aware of another power supply of similar quality to the Pedal Power 2+ that has a minimum of 8 jacks, of which at least 3 can deliver 250 mA?

HELP ME!

Use the convenience outlet on the PP2+ for the Orbit?

Hey rob i would run it by strymon. The trex chameleon is a very flexible unit that can provide several high power outputs. But it is $200

or this has only 7 total, but 3 high output. possible to combine 2 of the regular pedals?

If Strymon pedals want 250 mA, is it safe to plug them into a 400 mA source? I've heard stories of guys ruining their Strymon's by using improper power supplies......

I was always under the impression that the pedal would just use up the power it needed. The standard 1-4 9vdc taps can supply 100ma on the pedal power 2+, and a mxr carbon copy( just for example) requires 26ma, the pedal will just use the power that is required.

I would double check with eventide/strymon, but dont think it would be a problem.

It should not be a problem unless Strymon builds their pedals differently than everyone else. Boss, MXR, Ibanez, DOD, and countless others only use around 50mA per pedal but most power supplies (wall warts) are at least 200mA.

There is also the pedal power digital, which would be able to power all of your strymons on one pedal power, and then you could use the PP2+ for the rest. Not sure if you are interested in that idea, but just an option. http://www.flickr.com/photos/guitarplay ... 598406652/ The caption says it can power strymon pedals and it is listed at 400ma so you should be good to go with that.

Thanks, Charles. Looks like I have solved my own problem here.....

For El Capistan, Brigadier, blueSky, Lex, Ola and Orbit, we recommend a power supply that provides 9VDC (center negative) at a minimum of 250mA.

As a result, 9V at 400 mA should be fine. I have decided to return my Pedal Power 2+ and pick up a Cioks DC-10.

Thanks, all!

I'll share for sure! The pedalboard is going to be a custom build (not by me), and it likely won't be done until sometime in November. Stay tuned.....

Get a Glab power supply. No problem powering the pedals.

Thanks, Dave. I looked at them and I know they are your go-to, but I decided to give the Cioks a try. Looks like a nice product, and I like some of the features it has that the G-Lab doesn't (e.g., LED failure indicators).

Cheers!

all this pedalboard talk, i think i will pull mine out and see what sort of mess i left it in after the last gig. there's no telling what strange substances might be lingering and hanging on. i am sure i can find something to tweak while i am there......
