Build looks amazing ,
I am so curious to see the grill design ,you mentioned it will have holes to see inside will it be like a mesh?? .
The rest of the amp looks amazing
waiting for clips on this one especially since you mentioned its a lil meaner than the bomb
Cool stuff
Thanks for the kind words!

The grill (front and back) is not exactly mesh, but has holes all over it that will allow air to get in/out and for you to see inside the amp.

On the sound - It will do everything the ROD channel of the Cherry Bomb will do and much more because of the two 3-way bright switches and the separate stage 1 and 2 gain controls. And yes, definitely meaner if that is what you want!

Just bumping this one back up to see the finished product and perhaps clips??

Cool process to follow along with. Interested to hear how it sounds. I know you had a price point you mentioned earlier but I can't recall. What are you thinking now that's almost finished?

I wrote this above in the thread:

"On the price point... Yes, I know exactly what it will be now. Unfortunately, I was unable to hit my goal because the chassis (and footswitch chassis) cost me so much to have made. The final price will be $2199. I still think this is an exceptional value for such a flexible single channel boutique amp, with footswitchable SOLO master, footswitchable EFX loop, made in the USA with top quality components and beautiful, durable powder coated and silk screened chassis. Certainly competitive, IMO, but the market will decide..."

Thanks for asking - haven't updated because I'm still waiting for my prototype head cases to be finished. I hope to have them soon. I'm also experimenting with some different bright caps to get things exactly as I want them. Clips are definitely coming! I've been playing it a ton and I'm really thrilled with what I'm getting out of it!

Looks awesome! Thanks again for taking us along.

Please show how it cleans up with guitar vol pot. Lots of us need at least a "semi-clean". Single channel amps can sometimes be a challenge in that regard.

Steve,
You have great ears and a good design mind. Can't wait to hear the clips. Love the direction of this, even more than the CB.

Congrats!

Will do! One of the things I've focused on in my amps is making sure they clean up with the guitar volume nicely no matter how much gain you dial in. I can assure you that the new Bottle Rocket has this quality in spades. When I was playing in the 80s, I always used single channel mods that Jose did for me and if I couldn't clean them up with my guitar volume, I'd have been sunk...

Much appreciated! I'm really happy with this one, although I love the CB as well...

50% of the time I have the OT primaries wired wrong for positive feedback and the ever lovely squeal that accompanies said wiring. It doesn't matter what color code the OT manufacturer uses either.

I know, it's so annoying, man!
