Henning Bottle Rocket - Quick Clip

I plan on doing a full version with the Bottle Rocket but wanted to post this quick clip I did to test out a new piece of gear I picked up... the BluGuitar - Blubox (http://www.bluguitar.com/english/blubox.html). What a cool piece of gear! Makes it possible for me to record my tube amps quietly with a handful of great IRs. Allows me to adjust the mic position and other features as well.

I literally found the right levels and hit record. I need to play along but so far I really like what I'm hearing so far. The clean guitars are from my previous version using the Kemper but recorded the gain rhythm with the Henning Bottle Rocket into the Blubox with no effects at all (:46 second mark). Fits into the mix really nice! I used the cab setting "Stack 1980" which is taken from an original Marshall 4x12 Celestion G12h75. Once I get it dialed in where I want it I will redo the clip so you can hear the Bottle Rocket in action.

Wow, that sounds like a mic'd cab, Chad. Nicely done! I'm getting some really nice sounds out of the Suhr Reactive Load and Celestion IRs. Look forward to hearing the full song with the Bottle Rocket...

I didn't use a load box. I think I'm going to spring for one soon. I had the speaker attached to the out so no load box was necessary.

Thanks. Sounds possibly even better than with the REactive Load. I have to A/B to see, but I think it's a little bit more lively. Might be your awesome playing though...

Did you run the amp straight into the blubox out the "thru" and into a cabinet? Or two speaker outs, one into a cab and the other into the blu?

Yes, I ran the speaker out to the Blubox and "thru" into the cabinet. I also used an XLR from the "Balanced Mic Out" to my audio interface. I get the direct Blubox signal to the computer and still get the cabinet output in my room. I am looking into a Suhr Reactive Load so I can go full silent recording.
