Fuckin' A!
First of all, HUGE apology to Steve on this. For some reason, his vids tend to be the ones I really get ambitious for. This is a "full mix" vid, 4 camera's (lead, rhythm, bass and vocals).
The song is Black Sabbath's "A National Acrobat" from the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album. The Bottle Rocket sounds SO good in the context of hard rock/metal but that is to be expected given Steve's background.
Anyway, for the purposes of the recording, here is the gear I used:
Instrumentation:
• Amp - Henning Bottle Rocket
• Cab - Splawn 2x12 (Creamback 65's)
• Guitars - Mammoth Custom JerEvil and Les Paul
• Bass - Ibanez BTB Bass
• Drums - Steven Slate Platinum 4 (Modern Zep 2 kit)
Studio/DAW
• Computer - iMac 27"
• Interface - Focusrite Saffire Pro24
• Mic's - NOS Panther (cab) / Blue Mic's Bluebird (vocals)
I think this came out pretty darn good if I do say so myself. All parts recorded by yours truly, JerEvil (The Khed), and YES...
I AM using a pick when playing bass, because I am not a fucking bass player!
Anyway, check out the vid. There are at least 3 more to come in the full mix setting. To be clear, not trying to match anyones tone in the vids. Just dialing in what I thought sounded appropriate for the tracks. Priest, more Sabbath, Entombed on the way
