As promised, here are some clips of the Cherry Bomb from my visit to Squid Music this weekend. This is Carl (fusionbear when he was here) playing. The first clip is Carl playing his humbucker equipped Suh Standard and the second clip is him playing Curt's '66 strat. I love the tones Carl got with both but I was really psych'd by how good the strat sounded.

It's the Spawn cab, but I don't know what speakers are in it. Curt will have to chime in. The only effect is my Strymon El Capistan in the loop, but Carl is turning it on an off so you can hear the dry amp as well...

Steve, that amps sounds seriously good, dry, wet, and with whatever guitar is being thrown at it. You outdid yourself my friend.

Damn!!!! I want that lead tone. Sounds killer.

The cab the amp was running through has Splawn Small Block 25's in it. It is a very good sounding cab. It was really nice to hear Carl put my old strat through it's paces. I was blown away by how good that thing sounded in the room.

Wow that sounds amazing!!! Would love to play one of these Carl is a killer player too.

Has the stock pickups in it. My favorite vintage style strat pickups are the Arcane's. I would look at either the '61 Experience or the '69 Experience ones. I have the '69 Experience ones in a strat you could check out. Just let me know and I will bring it up to work for you to play.

I REALLY like that amp

Sounds great Steve!!! Could you describe what channels/modes was used in the different clips? Settings?

super nice clean tone!

for me the dirtier 66 strat sounds weren't as suited for that amp as say lance keltner' jtm45/100 clips or phil x dirty shirley vintagy marshall sound clips,
but still, to go from that clean to as heavy as it gets on just the gtr volume is sweet and it's still a great tone period.

one thing i thought when i played the plex channel was it reminded me of a cross between mojave and egnater plexi tones--like easy feel and bouncy mid of eggie tol ch 3 and purer focused sound of mojave crunch. and this clip reminded me of that.

also liked carl playing surh rolled off a bit for the bluesier sound he got.

I can only say that you should have heard it in the room. Curt and I were both blown away with how the dirt tones sounded with the '66. I do like the way the clip sounds a lot, but in the room, it was really something.. Curt was questioning the need for humbuckers hearing it...

Thanks for all your thoughts on the amp, Pat!

Ulf,

Wish I could do that man, but the video clips were all recorded with the players changing channels and modes randomly throughout what they were playing. Maybe one of the players could clarify, but I couldn't. I will say that I'll record a video walkthrough of the channels/modes soon...

Anyone who buys the amps will get the recommended settings that I use. All the clips were recorded with the amp set on my recommended settings...

I belive it must have killed in the room. The earlier vids had a more open, what it sounded like in the room sound, while these two vids sound like Carl's other vids. Squashed, no highs, low volume, etc

Curt's vids showed some real bite while these have a lack of highs which gotta be the fault of the camera
