CB sounds closer to an Aldrich than what i've heard plus channel switching.

The cleans sound amazing.

How much for a CB out the door ?

Dude - don't make it seem like there is any controversy here. You asking me if Mark designed the amp is ridiculous if you read the thread because Mark clearly says that he did not and that we started in a similar place and went different ways with it. We both started with what Jose did and went different ways - that is it. Why try to make it sound like there is any question of this. Both Mark and myself said that he didn't design the amp. What you're doing is just silly because if you read the thread there is no reason to ask the question…

There is no CB/Cameron connection. Mark helped me with a few things related to my hand wired prototype, which is a completely different design and he did not design that either. He helped me debug the first version (which I posted about here, BTW) and he helped with a switching issue. That is it and he will tell you the same thing.

He had no input to the CB schematic, layout, or anything else. He has never seen the schematic, layout or inside an actual amp. He'll tell you the same thing.

Can we put this to bed now? I worked too hard on this to have to deal with this silliness...

Mark Cameron met him, knew him to some degree and after Jose's death completed work on some of Jose's amps.

Jose died a long time ago. I knew him pretty well. He modded two of my Marshall's that I played in the 80s and I loved those amps. At the time, I wasn't interested in building amps so I never looked inside of them and he took care of the amps for me.

My only relationship to his design is a schematic someone made of one of his mods and posted on the Internet well after his death. I learned from that schematic and designed my own amp, which is much different, based on listening and tweaking, etc…

Where did you learn electronics ?

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering from USC so I have a pretty deep background in circuit design for things far more complex than tube amps. I also have been running marketing for startup software companies for many years so I know how to run a business. I just decided a few years ago that I wanted to build my ultimate amp and bring it to market so I read up everything I could on amp design and modifications, hung out on amp boards, went to Bruce Egnater's amp building class, experimented on my own amps, got a lot of help on my first design from Olaf Krampe here and just made it happen from there. I worked with a PCB/mechanical designer to convert my modified turret board design for the Cherry Bomb to PCB for repeatability and consistency, which I've discussed here before. I have a few more designs I want to do as well eventually. That's pretty much my story…
