I'm pretty sure next week I'll recive my Herbert. :D :D :D
Of course I can't wait to place it upon my FL Diezel cab and paly it!

I'll post some pics and then I'll make a little review between it and the VH4 I've owned.

:)

Congrats ! Just take the time to dial it in right and you will love it !
I just talked to a Herbert user who said this amp is dark and undefined and sounds bad with V30.
Mine must be a different amp, it´s the opposite.
What didn´t you like with your VH4 ?

Greetings from Stuttgart,
Sascha

Many thanks Sascha!
I love my VH4 and when I was selling it I was happy only because I was going to buy another Diezel.( I can't afford to own both)
I've choosen the Herbert only for one reason: the more modern metal tones that the Herberd has. :)

So..now is monday..well..I'll start to obsess my amp dealer! :D

Good luck on the new amp!

Thats my next purchase..........the mighty HERBERT!!

Just arrived now! :) :) :) :) :) :) :D
First impressions?

I've got a hard day at work today so little time to test my new amp but few things are clear:
-Herbert is much more different from VH4 than i've thought
-more modern voicing on all channels
-more suitable for modern metal
-mid cut is not so easy to setup in 2 hours of playing
-VH4 is very very tight,Herbert a little less
-less ubercompressed than VH4
-more usable gain
-this amp is almost dead quiet!..even on ch2+ and ch3 with mid cut engaged very little hiss, less than VH4...only on ch1 the Herbert has more hiss than VH4..strange,
maybe this is due to the lack of a gain knob on ch1 ,the first thing that i saw unboxing the amp.

I'm not normally a fan of highly compressed amps, but the VH4 is a definite exemption.

I also agree about the "more usable gain" point. The VH4 becomes too compressed when you push the gain really high for my tastes. I don't actually have a VH4 but the times that I've tried them I have never used that much gain, even when playing modern metal. The amp is so strong that it doesn't need it.

So you like it so far?
