The one thing I will say is that I am not a fan of that ISO cab though. I hear what sounds like cone cry on the tighter muted stuff. It's just the way it is with that setup. I use a Grendal Sound MK2 ISO cab but at this point, it's only for my speaker load and I use impulses now which work great.

Yeah the ISO has a distinct tone for sure. I've never heard a cone cry . It has a more "donk" to the palm mutes than chug. I like the more woody "donk" though since it is way tighter and I don't have to post eq. These tracks were not doctored at all. The only thing I did was render them in mild compression to level the attack. It is all Herbie with no post jucing and de-fizzing. I love recording with this amp. It sounds like a doctored amp track straight from the speaker.

The ISO cab is ported and front loaded, so I'm thinking that may have something to do with the tone.
I do however like being able to place the mic precisley where I find it best on the speaker without guessing. I'm running full power into a Warehouse Speakers HM75 with low volume in the ISO and the thing rips. Sounded a lot better than the tracks I did using my 4X12 with the same speakers.
I should have another song done in a couple of weeks.

I don't really think the problem here is that much in the iso cab. The thing is that your drum sound doesn't match your guitar sound, so you either have to make your drums more forward sounding or make your guitars more distant sounding, otherwise they just don't blend with each other. After that you'll need to work on your playing technique, you need more steady right hand to get that tone going. Yes, I'm a moron.

What mic were you running in your ISO cab? I tried a Heil PR20 the other night and I'm still smiling. I'll have to get clips up at some point. Far and away better than my 57 was.

I was using an SM57. I also have an E609 that I use. I like the 57, but would like to find something different. The 57 is more directional where the E609 has more room for error and picks up better. The tones are different. The 609 has less mids and a more neutral sound. The 57 has a more mid emphasis IMO. I actually started using the 609 on snares to give them a more meaty sound.
I'll have to check out the PR20.
