Hey there

It was my understanding the Tech 21 Midi Moose could be powered by the Herbert, but I'm not having luck. Any thoughts on why this would be?

Thanks.

Matt

What type of midi cable are you using? Mine is a 5 pin and works fine.

Yup, check the cable-use one where all 5 PINs are wired actually, which is not the case for many brands.

I'm using a 5 pin cable and from what I know all pins are connected. Not sure what's up.

Are you sure? many many brands just have three wires inside. If you have a DMM you can check that- and if your Herbie spits out phantom power too.

Is the midi Moose new, or been around awhile? My midi moose stopped working all together after 8-9 months and had to be sent back to Tech 21 for repair.

Hey man, glad you got it ok, never heard back from you, it worked fine with a 5 pin with my VH-4, but I tried it will my Axe and no luck, I think it depends on the cable, regardless Rocktron makes a really cool 5-7 pin MIDI cable you can check out... good luck!!!

I use a Tech21 Midi Moose to control my Herbert and it works fine =)

Dont know the brands name by heart but I can look it up at the next band practice if you would like to know?

The Axe FX uses the pins 6 & 7 for power... and you have to plug the adaptor to the Axe, too.
