What are the basic tonal differences here? Is there a pretty nominal difference? I've never really fallen in love with the Herbert like most metal guitarists tend to do, but I did just hear a clip of the Einstein that I really liked. I'm just trying to figure out if there is any placebo effect going on.

Einy wont do the mid scooped brutal thing that the herbert can with the midcut, it also wont have quite the same headroom. two channels not three, no midi.

it does however have lots of character, more so IMO than herbie.

I play in a metalcore band with mine so it can hang pretty well.

I LOVE Einy! :inlove:

Haha, less mid scoop, that must be why I liked it better. Less sub-bass too? Or does it just seem that way because there is more mid content?

It's Diezel's more "vintage" voiced amp which means it's not quite as metal as the Herbert I guess. Sounds a bit smoother on the top end to me, as well as the mids sounding a bit different. It does sound great though, 3 great sounding modes on channel 1 and a very nice lead tone on ch 2. Very nice amp indeed.

YES! And I was trying to figure out if I liked it because it was a good amp or just because it was him using it ROFL. Lolzgreg and Ola are my two biggest tone influences. I love every project they make.

I hear you. I have regular gas for whatever Ola posts, however as of late they both have me gassing for a 2010 DR. Ola or Greg need to post a JVM clip so I can feel better about mine.

well obviously a higher wattage power section will have a more authoritative bass response but the deep control at 120HZ on Einy will def pump out the bass!
