That MOD would be cool.
But I'd still have to go back and crank the gain when it's set to "-".
So with "+" I have a bit more gain than the "-" max'ed out. Does that make sense?
But your rght; it's really similar to channel 3 than. I DO like the options of trying each channel with the Mid Cut or with out. It essentially gives you 4 different gain sounds. And you never know which one will work per song, guitar; or venue/club.
Of course you have more gain at +. It´s more compressed, that´s why - has more bottom end.
The volume is the same at gain 1 o´clock. But i don´t hear any difference at my 3h even. Only if you go less than 1h the + will sound louder.
But the best thing about ch2- is the git.vol response. From nearly clean (with hb, with sc really clean) to even more than hard rock gain. Like a one channel amp. That is amazing!
I've gotta try the - this weekends gig. I was super happy w/ the modern tunes last gig, but the classic songs weren't quite there since I used "+".
I know I have used a Keeley mod DS-1 before with the "-" with exceptional results. But I don't use pedals very much now.
I think you´ll like - for trad. sounds. It sounds like a Marshall(DSL, love this amp) with more bottom but less distortion. You can even get the brightness like DSL is for these sounds.
This little cheap f****** amp sounds like hell.
I am trying the "-" tonight live! I'm digging the tone I dialed in w/ the "-" right now. And I usually like it until I re-try the "+". It's a bit warmer w/ the "+" and more gain usually feels better. But the cleaner "-" tone is extremely tight on the bottom.
