Herbert w/effects - Band situation

Hi guys!

Need your opinion.

I used to play my Herbert with the switchable loop. I did that to have the possibility to play without effects if i wanted.
The input range of the GMajor was the Consumer. You can dial between Pro and Consumer, but consumer caused me some problems with the input level. You are forced to dial a very low ch. vol. for the cleans. But only with with the consumer setting i can dial in an equal level setting between w/ loop and without loop and not using V2.

Not long ago i changed that.
I do only use the serial loop and switched to the Pro input range of the GM.
Now you can nicely dial the ch. vol. settings without overloading the input of the GM.

BUT...i can´t stop that feeling that this solution is soaking my tone!
The Pro setting has a lower sensitivity than the Consumer.

Does anybody of you guys knows a good way out of there? In other words how do you use your presets live or in a band?
Does anybody switch between effects and without effects?
Which way do you use a solo boost?
I have to say that my fcb1010 has the uno software and the upper row is in stompbox mode, so all my GM presets are about -3 and -6db and one switch of the fcb1010 turns it to 0db.
So do you have a solo boost setting without an effect unit?

What a bummer Herbert cant handle CC´s! :aww:

Please give some input or ideas! ;)

Ebtech Line Level Shifter will convert back and forth between Line and Instrument levels, so you could use the consumer setting without overloading it.
