Hello,

I have an '09 Herbert that is just too much amp. I cannot let her breath like she needs to. I got a sick deal on it and thought I'd try. A shame, but I can't take advantage of the 78 tubes in there....

In your opinion(s), is this a classic "keeper" as I'll regret later or what? Like those who wish they didn't sell their old marshalls?

Just trying to get a dose reality from other users.

Thanks!

**** UPDATE - thanks for the responses - the amp has to go - check classifieds....

Why would you sell the best amp in the world for something not as good?
Only way I would sell my VH4 is for another VH4!
They still sounds better than any other amp at low volumes.

Sorry...........there is no such thing as to much amp ;)

And yes if you like it now, you will regret selling it later.

Silly post, if you're already questioning the mere thought of selling it, why sell it? You'll have one of the world's best at your fingertips. So maybe now isn't the time to crank it - but in another few years, get a bigger pad, start gigging, jamming, whatever - you'll wish you never let her go.

Peace,
Uncle Mo

I thought the Herbert sounded GREAT at low to medium volumes.
Of course it would knock your nut sack around once you kick it up! :D

LOL! Herbert is a HE not a she or her!
Its Peter's father, not mother.

Anyway, you want to sell One of the best amps in the world? Congrats!

I do need cash right now
selling my herbert would be

The amp is not only expensive, its so much fun to play....with any style this amp will deliver, the built quality is amazing and so on
I dont know if id ever buy an expensive amp again, im not in the situation anymore to play live or even have the time to play in a band.
I know, ill never sell the Herbert.

Really this amp is so much fun
do think twice before rolling the dice

There are always more viable and suitable ways to make some funds in the short term. Male prostitution, theft, start a cult, work for the government, you know - it's out there.

Im with Mo. Prostitution is a great option. Make $...meet new people too!!

Everything is fine but don´t get a guitar amp manufacture

Will you miss the amp? Yes. Question is, is the amp doing everything you need it to do right now. I think the Herbert is the best-sounding amp I've ever heard, but I sold mine because 1. It wasn't working in the band mix and 2. I can always get another one.

The pain of loss will fade. It's OK to let go of Herbert... NEVER sell VH4.

I sold a Diezel modded 50 watt Marshall JMP...and begged to buy it back but was refused
I sold my first VH4 and spent overtime at work to buy it back again
Diezels tones won't be found in other amps
Herbert/Hagen/schmitd/Eni/D-mon/VH4 are NOT expendables or to be re-sold :gethim:

I didn't even read the post or the thread and I don't own a herbert (got me a VH4), but yes. Yes you will.

Do yourself a favor. Sell plasma, blood, and a left kidney. DO NOT SELL THE HERBERT. You will hate yourself for selling it and some lucky bastard will love you for selling it to him! Come to your friggin' senses man and put down your pipe. When you come down a little bit you will appreciate the Herbert like you're supposed to...

if you had ever met peter's dad "herbert" you wouldn't call your amp "her". :gethim:
