I see you agree with me on the power dampening

Man, if I even roll back on the power dampening a little bit the tone gets all "trebly" and stuff. What's up with that? I can't even understand why he'd put that on the amp. I'm afraid that I'll have to use some power dampening live and that would SUCK.

I only messed with the PD a little bit, but enough to realized I didn't dig it. I'll try it again sometime, though.

I recommend replacing the PD with a nice PPIMV and you won't need a HotPlate and will get that sound at even lower volumes. It is really easy to do according to the tech who did mine... I can get him to write up the circuit and tell you what parts you need...

Yeah, I'd describe it as dark and midrangey. Depends on the speakers of course. It's supposed to be brighter than the other Budda amps too, so I dunno.

Daver101 absolutely loves his SD45. I just didn't gel with it.

and we all know how Heavy Metal Jim feels about the SD45.....

But he did in fact post pics of the inside of the Gibbons amp which is just a rack mount PD. I couldn't help but save the pics and zoom in on everything that was going on specifically the Power dampening

From the description I thought it was pretty complicated in depth mod but its so easy my wife could do it. Its great marketing. I have to admit though that its an ingenius mod but he didn't come up with it first.....he just re-discovered it from what I've gathered.

It all started at the Metro Forum, some actual owners posted pics of the Scorpion, Coyote and PD and 30 something pages later we had them dissected from one end to another. That was a fun few days of playing detective.

How could Vic at Mojave have a great ear for tone and dial this in to be the perfect plexi, yet get that power dampening all wrong? Why wouldn't he just go with a better PPIMV in the first place? I don't get it. I feel like I'm missing something.

I need to give that PD another run.

im pretty sure the power dampening is a version of the PPIMV with a fixed lower volume setting..the problem with PPIMV are that some sound great and some sound like a$s....this one herte is suppose to be the the best from what i hear..im using a slightly differnt one,bit im going to give this a try next..the diagram shows it installed in a plexi..hope this helps.

Vic is a master at re-wording something to make it appear as if he is doing something out of the ordinary. That said, if he was a master of Markteing he wouls have kept the price down on the Peacemaker and handled his business affairs way differently. greed got the better of him
I have a marketing background and he has done multiple no no's business-wise.

The vid sounds pretty good Chris. Not as sloppy and muddy sounding like a stock Marshall tends to be. I'd like to check one of these out sometime. If the PD is really a PPIVMV I can understand it getting really trebly with it turned down......never had any luck with those myself......

yeah bro, The resale value on those are horrible! I feel bad for anyone who paid the full price on a PM and decided to sell it.
I think Vic would do better by lowering the price and he also should change his dealer policy. What I mean is that I've heard that he askes his dealers to carry large amount of product and that puts some people off.
