I don't think I can recall ever seeing a thread about any Cameron Marshall going down but that goop is disturbing. The 4 that I've had here had some type of paint over the values but not gooped. I'm sure Mark C has gone away from the goop and uses this way of hiding his circuits. The Golub lead mod I had was painted too. BTW I still think Cameron modded Marshalls are the best modded Marshall tone available. Anyone got a problem with that? PM me...

I had a Cameron aldrich go tits up and needed a repair but... the goop came off ,it isnt ideal to have to remove goop but it can be done

Most likely it is for the DC heater supply... Keeps the amps very quiet. is is most likely some type of laptop or similar power supply. They are pretty commonly used. I am not an amp builder but I would mount them with a small metal bracket or epoxy a metal case and put it inside of that.. I have seen one come loose in an amp due to the silicone letting go..
