Agreed. That definition isn't accurate. "Typically through elected representatives" should be taken out. That makes it a representative republic or similar. A representative republic typically has democratic processes, but it's not the same thing as democracy as a system of government.

We have seen this kind of things a few times over the last few years. Some examples would be the definition of recession and vaccine.

I guess if you are in the business of changing definitions, well then, anything can be true.

That's libspeak for it's a living definition. Most of western Europe call themselves a socialist democracy. That's retarded. It's neither. Give it a new name if you gotta, but it isn't democracy. The actual definition of democracy is very simple. Mob Rules. The Majority decides. Every vote counts the same. The US is not a democracy, Australia isn't a democracy. No one in their right mind would want to live in an actual pure democracy.

No it's not - we have been known as a democracy like the US forever. I always knew about "direct democracy" but I can't think of any maybe Switzerland? Don't be ridiculous we are democracy and so is the US. Your citizens vote in your government. So do we.

That sounds really nice on paper and is technically correct but it's just another governance system that favors the wealthy and well connected that is in the process of failing because in the end greed and corruption destroy all nations. Scam-ocracy.

Maybe so but if we just stuck to the constitution, as it was originally written, we wouldn't be having all these problems. The majority of problems, IMO, is the printing of a fiat currency. According to the constitution, only gold and silver is currency. The powers at be only exist because they can print all the money they want to.

What's ludicrous is for you, an Australian, to think you know American history and civics better than Americans that had to learn about it the whole way through school since they were 5 years old. You had democratic elections. I don't need to be an American to know what your country has proclaimed to the world for years. For years and years your country has trumpeted its democracy and fought against the march of communism. It has lobbied for democratic elections in other countries to mirror its own. Now again I'll say don't be ridiculous. I also went to school and we had the advantage of not learning just about our own country because we thought it was the only country in the world like some other countries that shall remain nameless.

You aren't wrong about fiat currency and sticking to a more straightforward code but the constitution is not a living breathing document like some of the propaganda out there states. It's not on the level of the bible. It's mostly propaganda. Bill of rights and all that. How many people have had those rights violated by the same pieces of shit that claim to uphold, and represent them? The founders were mostly freemasons. And that continues today with many of our leaders. They serve dark forces, whether people realize it or not.
