I could be wrong (often am) but Metro seems to be protecting themselves lately.
They don't offer all the kits to the public as they would rather supply folks like Friedman who use some form of a Metro kit and go from there.
They also are pushing their assembled plexi kits.
I doubt there will be any change to anything there. They are probably just want to make more off the finite number of kits they can produce instead of being the starting point for others to mod amps etc. Brad is a talented guy for sure but George M probably is OK with the way things are going and may not or want any help.
Just a theory based on only my own thoughts.

I just see a huge potential in kit amplifiers. It's a great way for younger guys to learn about buildin and modding tube amps. Look at the average age of an amp tech/designer/builder etc. They're typically in their 40's and 50's. In comparison to boutique pedals, I'd say new amp features and sounds are more scarce.

George has said the amp side is rockin' and rollin', but the kit side never made money and he only kept it going as long as he did because of the hardcore guys.
There is no money in kits unless you can produce them cheap on Asia, and even then I don't think that many get sold.

That will screw up any business. Lots of people doing a similar thing in other hobby industries that are pretty successful at it.
I just thought the product was way better than what was and still is on the market. There's always money in a solid product.
