As a former Furman PQ-3 user, you cannot discount that the PQ-3 was mainly being used to turn a stock marshall into a roaring beast with as much if not more gain than any of the modded Marshalls back in the day. We slammed the front end of those Furmans hard to overdrive them. Then we eq'd to taste.

Roger that, decimator engaged, hiss controlled. The problem now is my chops are seriously lacking. I think i'm the shit when i play but when i listen back to my playing..... oh boy. Sloppy city. The art of recording cleanly..it truly is in the fingers. If this effect is anything like those Furmans then really, I'm sold. That's the 80's tone right there. I can hear a ton of diff tones in this thing. That ADA preamp also sounds like it was heavy in the mids.

Ralphie baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sound just ripped my sack open and all my man fluids drained out!
That is totally KILLIN'!~
I actually like your tone MUCH better than the original... I added 3db at 10k
and it REALLY smoked! Brought out just a bit more of what 'I' like in the top end.

Smokin' bro!

I'm sure your chops are just fine as we are all our worst critics but I feel you about recording. Ive listened back to live stuff I did and recorded stuff and sometimes its painful. The good thing is if you chose to learn from it ,try and fix what you aren't digging and keep plugging away at it!!
