What do you like better and why?

The Recto series?
The Mark series?
Or the Stiletto series?

Mark Series are the most amazing lead amps i have ever played there very tight, Without sounding compressed if that makes sense? Very clear and articulate, and like most mesa boogies they sound amazing in a band situation.
They cut but blend very well.

Although Roadkings are very good, clean and rythm amps still going to pick one up eventually.
 
The mark series...Owned a mk 3,mkIVb, roadking,quad pre,recto pre,triax.simul 295,2-90-2,studio 22+,and now mkV...If you remember when the rectos' came out,-1st and formost they were designed to address the "new metal"scene,which was a bit looser in feel,although very heavy,and not as "focused" as the mk series..(but I have heard some pretty tight rectos w/ some outboard eqing)....I love the rectos too,but the ultra tight, blistering high gain lead tone,5 band eq,and "musical" sounding compression that the mk's hav do it for me! :thumbsup:
 
for cleans and leads, I prefer the marks. for riffing and the chug chug-give me a recto.
 
I really like the Mark and Recto series. Mark series esp the Mark IV (I previously own) gets me
from lush cleans to awesome metal and hot leads.

Alot of people don't like the recto sound but personally, I like the voicing and
the balls of that amp. :rock:
 
Mark IV, RACKtifier, Silverface Recto, Road King/Roadster :rock:
 
Mesa boogie is the best live amp very reliable on the road and allways sounds awsome in the mix.
 
I have a T-verb head and a Mark IV. I like the Lonestar too.
 
MKIII Simul-Class line is my favorite. They just do what I want them to do tonally and have proven reliable over the past 20+ years.

If i were hunting (today), I would definitely be looking at a MKV Five

This clip is a MKIII Coliseum Simul-Class 180 Watt version, but the clip was recorded at TV volumes


 
The Lonestar is a great amp as well. Loved it every time I've plugged in.

Ive at least one amp from every series mesa has put out. Im currently on a Stiletto kick. They're kinda inbetween a Mark and a Recto for me. But the honeymoon is almost over. Thinkin about whippin out the CC and getting a Mark V or possiblbly trading for a Mark IV. The Stiletto has many Great attributes, but I cant get over the nasty brightness.
 
I'm a Mark Series guy through and through, but I've been liking my Road King more and more lately! Starting to figure out how to dial the bastard in.

Yeah its funny like that. You cant dial in a recto the way you would a Mark and so on and so forth... :yes:

What I think as well, I like the lower end of the rectos for heavy riffing.
 
Mark series for me. Most of you probably haven't played the Mark V yet, if you do make sure you play on the crunch mode on channel 2. I friggin love the sounds I'm getting there. It doesn't really need a boost pedal since it's nice and tight by itself. It completely destroys R2 on the Mark IV.

I always thought R2 was worthless on the IV's. At least on the one I used to own. I thought that was the general concensus :D
 
It's all about the MkIV for versatility. I've never played a recto. I found my tone a long time ago and never looked back.
