So I thought I'd check out something new in the pick department as I only have about three left.

I currently use .88 for jazz, 1mm for metal and 1.14 for recording (metal)

How do the picks compare in density/flexibility? I'd like the pick to be stiff but slim for metal.

or any general thoughts about either?

If you want slim yet rigid, try some Dunlop stainless steel picks, the .51 thickness. They have a nice edge to their attack, as thick as a medium pick, but so rigid that I think you'd have to be a strong man in the freak show to bend them by hand. Not great for strumming or digging in, though. Best for speed and using a light touch, where you just barely hit the top of the string.

i use the purple and red ones the most, they are .60 and .73. i think the black ones are .8something. its the grip on the snarling dogs i like, its got a textured sandpaper feel that never wears out. ive converted a lot of people over the snarling dogs, give them a shot

Thanks man, I couldn't resist the cool pick tin, and it was only £6.00 for 12. (Inc. tin) I got the 88s. I heard somewhere they're quite stiff compared to the Dunlop counterparts, kinda like a jazz III is this true?

Actually I have one of these that I bought with the intention to drill and make a necklace for a friend, thanks man, I'll post here when I've tried it.
