He plays with Angra, a few other smaller bands, does his own solo jazz thing on the side (as well as a few metal records), and sticks to the prog. metal genre band-wise. i feel like he is infinitely clever as far as his lead playing/composing goes. not the best but im an entirely a fan. gotta love his 27 fret tagima Ran copy guitar too

Big fan here! Kiko's technique is killer, and he's a great versatile player. I really enjoy Angra aswell as his solo fusiony stuff too :)

Always wanted one of those Tagima K1 guitars, I bet they play like butter!!

I love his jazz/fusion stuff, i love his classical stuff, and i love is way-out-there shred stuff. the dude has a very interesting way of phrasing things.

Absolutely

I ordered his new Instructional DVD 'Creative Fusion'. Once i'v had a chance to watch it, I'll let you know what it's like. From the small clips i have seen so far it looks very cool, and he shares some really interesting ideas. It's a 2 DVD set, so there's gotta be plenty of instructional material on there :)

Love him, he is my favorite player! His phrasing, not to mention his chops, are awesome.

his tone really makes me want to try the parellel axis pickups, im pretty sure its 90% of his playing that makes it sound so good, but I can play a lot of his music so it can only help. they look very interesting.

Kiiko's a smoking player with a lot of cool phrasing and technical stuff that he does, I'm surprised he doesnt draw more attention. I saw this a while ago when I first heard of him and thought it was pretty cool, not necessarily the song itself, just how he played a whole song by tapping only with no pick

I never heard of him. Thanks for the post. I am going to check more out on you tube.

I love his solo album No Gravity. Angra stuff is also good

I have seen him twice playing demos at Musikmesse.
This year he was at Laney and oh boy, poor Kiko, this is not job for him ;)
He is really not an entertainer person-type like Christoophe Godin or Mattias IA Eklundh,
which both make thier Laney-boot demos always with a lot of fun :D
But the playing was nice, really nice.

I like Kiko's playing a lot, but I'm not a huge fan of Angra at all.

Kiko rips!!
