I was going to comment how the fuck do you not have range finding lasers to scan the surface for landing telemetry, but apparently they did.
They just forgot to turn them on here at home world.

It’s an obvious conspiracy. I know what I’m talking about because I read a lot of conspiracy style books growing up.

Apparently that was NASA’s laser system and saved the thing. So…

- lunar lander landed tipped over
- the navigation system did not kick in
- a switch was not flipped before flight
- a cube with four cameras, was supposed to pop off before touchdown to capture pictures of Odysseus’ landing, but didn't

Would seem they’d have this down five decades after the first successful landing, WITH PEOPLE.

This is what makes me skeptical. I mean you think there would be redundancies and back up plans for everything. I was reading an article that called the person who came up with some plan to get it to at least land a "space cowboy" and a "genius"
