Yup, entropy's the reason travelling backwards in time is impossible IMHO.

If entropy could be reversed or even halted, we'd live forever. Corporally that is.

I’ve been deep diving into the “horizon problem” a lot lately and it’s a pretty interesting look into when entropy works “too well”. The observable universe has become so homogeneous and isotropic, that it challenges the models of how the universe was created. Pretty cool stuff.

Yeah it's flat as a pancake viewed out the window at about 70,000 feet as long as you aren't using a go-pro or other fisheye lens. Glad to see you coming around! Someone else claimed it has upturned edges, sounds kinda like a dinner plate or my shirt when I pop my collar.

You’d like the Horizon Problem. It’s yet another topic that challenges the “big bang theory” as it is most generally understood

It's a new one to me. Modern science seems to be in the business of finding new things to package as "problems" to everyone. Maybe you should tell me about this one. I promise I won't be snivel. LOL

well then, IF you believe in special relativity, you go under the assumption that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light.

And if nothing travels faster than the speed of light, you can figure out the current "size" of the universe by using any given estimate of the amount of time that has passed since the big bang happened. That number gives you the size of the observable universe (observable because it is how far light could have traveled since the big bang). That has also been confirmed by the "cosmic background radiation" which basically is temperature map of the universe. In that map you can see that more or less, there is not a huge difference in temps across the universe. That makes sense when you consider the entropy we talked about in the thread earlier.

What does not make sense, is that the universe also kinda looks the same no matter what direction you look in. Like way more than it should given any amount of expected randomness. It's almost as if parts of the universe have had casual contact or influence over each other that physically never should have never had contact with each other. Hence the isotropy I mentioned earlier.

And that is about all i've been able to wrap my head around so far lol

Got it.

I have two nephews who are downs syndrome so I have definitely experienced special relatives on more than a few occasions. Very real. They are great fun and one of them is high functioning but the screaming and yelling all day long wears me the heck out. I don't know how my sister does it.

It take a special person, that’s for sure.

For real though, it’s pretty incredible. I also have 2 nephews that we believe have downs or on the spectrum or whatever. They are still quite young so no one is saying for sure, but we are all pretty confident that it is the case. Sometimes it’s “easy” because they will sit and quietly entertain themselves for hours. But literally anything else can be a total nightmare.
I babysat for the older one once and when he bit me while carrying him to the bathroom I said “ya know what, I am not equipped for this”

These two never chill. It is all day screaming and yelling. I joke with my old man about him "going to Talllahassee to fellowship with his grandsons." I think part of her problem is neither her nor her husband has ever whooped anyone's ass over there so there are behavioral issues. Sometimes an ass whooping brings the calm.

My mom slapped me once and that’s all it took lol

My mom used to bust out the spatula until one day we just started laughing at her when she gave it everything she had. Then dad showed up. My dad's hands were like rawhide.

But how many times did she drop you?

I decided that you are off the list. Not just because I ran out of Dr evil memes, but because I think you mean well. Slightly misguided, but you mean well.

It’s not fair of me to lump you in with some wretched troll that thinks it’s ok to use someone’s family as fodder for shit talk because they aren’t witty enough to say anything meaningful. Sure you think the moon landing is fake, but at least you never said that flying to the moon “isn’t rocket science”.

So to answer your question, I don’t think she dropped me at all. She would have definitely told me by now I think. My brother is 6 years my senior and he wailed on me enough though.
