I am angry that you can stoop that low here for sure… it’s one thing calling someone an idiot or fuckwit.. it’s another to dig into personal details and kick them for their marriages or the way they raise their children. That is going too far.

It’s subjective but I just don’t see it as the mortal offense that you do. And regarding ad-hom in general I think it has more to do with the crudity and insult/substance ratio so as to engender actual discussion as opposed to flame wars.
