Hey Thump....You gonna LOL!!!

I took the day off yesterday and I spent some time going to some music shops. Guess what? I played a 50 watt DSL that just killed lol!! Im not sure if this one was just a mutant but the amp sounded really good! I used to be so so about the DSL's but this one crushed. If I had the cash, it would have come home with me!!



On another note, I played the New John petrucci model guitar and it was OK. A little stiff but the options are pretty amazing. I also got to play a New released version of the Washburn Nuno guitar and that guitar sounded Very good.
I also played the Peavey Delta blues amp that Adam (randyvanSykes) was talking about and I absolutely loved it. My only beef with it is that it has a very bad channel leak. If you dont get the volume up, you can hear the clean channel through the dirty.
I also tried the new fender Superchamp and I didn't dig it at all.

It was enough gain for me !! Surprised me to lol
Maybe this one is a flamethrower because on half it sounded like a ton of gain. Not boogie gain but definitely enough to hang notes. My friend Billy who is a manager of the store I went to told me that it was his favorite amp in the store so I asked him to plug me into it and it killed lol!!

Ive played a few DSL's that were ok but this one has the tone. I have no idea why though

I was on the red channel but the gain on half was enough! The cool thing is that my friend Billy let me crank the fucker to and it sounded really killer.
Of course Id also have to try it with a tube screamer to but you know how I roll

I know what you mean about the DSL. I've played some that were super sweet. While others were kinda harsh and fizzy. I can't help but think it has to do with the tubes and bias.

Definitely correct brother. I spoke to a friend about this and he swears that his DLS sounded bad until he put in the winged C tubes and changed the bias. This one sounded killer ! I had teh gain on half when cranked and up a bit more when playing low and Id have no problem gigging with that amp at all.

I think they are underated because of a few horror stories Ive heard about them breaking down and that they are inconsistent. Ive played a few that just sounded horrible but this one killed!

Id love to hear your modded DSL in person!!

It was NOS in his store and probably way to much money! Id get one used for sure and save a ton.

As good as Zepmans was, I always had a hard time playing on it. This one made playing on it effortless.

It really comes alive and sounds best with the mid control cranked all the way up.
Did you try the 1x15 version? The amp is basically a Classic 30 with tremolo and a 15 inch speaker...great combo for the money.

I tried the 1x15 and it was kickass but it did have a really bad channel leak at low volumes but I mean really low. I kind of dug it because you could hear the clean sound underneath the distortion and it sounded cool! Id have no problem giging with that amp.
My friend billy said he uses the Classic 30 for all of his gigs and he also loved the 1x15.

I lot of people talk about the Vintage Modern, but I think the DSL kicks its ass. The tube screamer in front and half gain setting like u had it is how i used to run mine and i just had a blast playing it! they sound even better through a 4x12 with greenies.
