Here's my rig and amp.

Look forward to sharing knowledge.

Dude those are some BIG pedals.....welcome to RT!

wow, amazing board. Someone lives close to Pete Cornish it seems ;)

Hah! About 200 miles. I love his dirt, not so big on the more expensive boutique re-houses of DD2's and CE2's though. My MXR Delay and TC SCF are ample for my needs. But it's true that his distortion pedals are unmatched (IMO) and deadly silent when not engaged.

They work well into the Twinolux

So that MXR is full rack width, 2 height units? How do you balance the instrument/line levels of your pedals vs. the rack unit?

Top left of board: Badger Schism parallel mixer.

The MXR runs at instrument level; I have the guit signal into the Schism, then it splits the signal into 2- one goes to rack MXR, which is set to 'dry defeat' so no base signal is sent back, just sends back the repeat trails. The Badger then mixes the original signal back into the split signal, so there's no clutter, and it's got a buffered output to the amp. Does that all make sense?

The delay mix and vol are all on the Schism, the rack unit is pretty much maxed out in terms of settings of saturation and level.

Parallel mixed delays sound much bigger and cleaner. Think Gilmour's massive delay sound. Gigrig wetbox does this well too, but not as many options as the Schism. (NB: pointless trying to parallel mix unless you have a dry defeat option on your delay)

I also have a bit of slapback from the Carbon Copy going on with the long delays from the rack.

Interesting setup. I'm in a similar situation, as I do all my mod and dirt on the board, but wanna use a rack unit (KorgDL8000R) along with it. But that board with the rack in diagonal, it must be a pita to carry around I suppose?

Maybe I'll just stick with my DD-2 and H9 for now.

Indeed, an analog mixer always sounds better than a digital like in most delay units.

I was considering to get a Switchblade 8F to do switching, mixing and control levels, but maybe it's overkill.

I am a bit skeptical with the Gigrig stuff, as it's a bit weird not using midi etc ..

Switchblades are brilliant because you can change the effect order, a pretty unique feature. High quality stuff. Frank at Looper's Paradise in your country worships them.

I have been to midi hell and back, but decided I wanted simplicity. I think the turning point came when I discovered the Twinolux and from that moment on, needed only one amp, so a lot of clutter got left behind (used to run stereo). It's so sensative to guitar volume too, which is all good.

That's a very simple set up, although looks more than it is- 3 dirts, 1 comp, 2 delays, one mod. The pedalboard is flightcased, as is my amp, so not too bad.

Incidentally, DD-2's are pretty much unbeatable as a standalone. Love 'em. The MXR rack unit though is, to my ears, the king of delay. The whole range of Alesis products use the algorithm and chips inside it, and Alesis was founded by the designer of that rack unit.
