It´s cheaper and less time consumpting
to build a new head shell.
 
I agree with Peter...
That's a very valuable unit.
I don't know anyone I'd trust re-tolexing with that.
There's a good chance it won't be right on cosmetics.
You would have to be very careful.
I think you could replace the cabinet and arrange the purchase of it thru a dealer.
Even if it comes from Germany it would be worth it.

If you'd like us to get the cab..we can probably do that and install it for you.
I really think it would be worth your while.
If you don't feel completely comfortable doing it yourself..have some one experienced do it.
Vacuum tube amps are high voltage units..and safety is a concern..especially units like this one.
In addition to checking the amp for performance, we always do a UL/CSA safety leakage test for shock hazard.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the info. I'm probably going to wait on that since It's going to be pretty pricey and I just spent the majority of my money on a Herbert!! :-)
