I figured this would be a cool amp cause the co is run by Hiwatt fanatics, including Dave Reeves (Hiwatt founder) son.
Better than expected. Hiwatt with a tiny bit of Marshall (choke) sag, more crunch in there. All the good Page, Bolin, Gilmour, Townshend tones are in there. Took every pedal I threw at it. Different than a Marshall. More high fidelity. I always liked Hiwatts, owned a few in the 70's and 80's.
Like to get their cab but I ran out of shit to sell

Cool score. I'm a big fan of old cranked Hiwatts but there's simply no way to get that sound without a noise violation or alienating hte band and soundman...and they don't sound right attenuated IMO. Getting that tone at a reasonable volume is something nobody has really captured before...cool that somebody got it.

This amp will be in the classifieds within 4 months (benefit of the doubt) with some explanation (from carlygtr (Mr. Happy)) about how everything sucks in 2014 and couldn't possibly compare to the masterful way (by throwing things together with whatever was in the parts bin that day) things were built back in the 50's, 60's and 70's.

Well, this one went to shit pretty quick? WTF. Anyway....nice amp Carl. Id love to try one of those out. I played a Custom 100 for quite a few years in the early 90's. Loved that amp. It never sounded as good through any other cabinet than the Hiwatt/Fane cab I had at that time. Thats one combo I wished I'd never gotten rid of. Post a clip of this thing when you have time.

Fanes are great speakers. Apparently, Hi-Tone has their priority Fane (clone) speaker they offer in their cabs. They break in the speakers before shipping too. Pretty cool. If I can swing it I'd like to get the 2X12.

I used those 4 amps I had about 2 years. Never said nothing bad about them. Sold them to RT members. I never said those amps were the best there is. Wrong guy fucktard.
