I picked up an EVH 5150III last week and it sounds killer, except that I'm hearing high end fizz on the gain channels more than I think is normal.
I had an ENGL Powerball here last week too and it sounded even fizzier...so i don't think there's an issue with the EVH, possibly the cab ?
The cab is an oversize Matamp 2x12 with 16Ohm V30s wired in parallel that I fitted (and wired) myself, they both look pretty new so may not be broken in yet. Iused speaker cable from my stereo speakers as it's high end stuff and much thicker than the normal stuff.
I've tried the EVH through my other Rectifier 1x12 (also V30) and the fizziness is less but still there, that speaker has definitely had some hours on it.
Could I have wired something up wrong ? I would have thought that incorrect wiring would produce no sound, rather than more fizz ?
I also had my ears syringed a few weeks ago and ever since my hearing is in super hi definition, am i just hearing high end fizz that was always there, i just couldn't hear it before ?
Help it's driving me nuts
