High gain pre amp recommendations

I don't know what they used but it sounds like a mix of a unboosted Dual Rectifier and a Sunn. I'd go with the recto recording pre.

Does it have an effects loop? The Wampler Triple Wreck pedal sounds like High on Fire when plugged into an effects return. Results may differ if you put it up front.
If you're going in front, then something from Black Arts Toneworks should get you there. Maybe the Black Forest?

It's an SLO

I would snag the AMT slo pre, the wamper slostortion, a myasnikov rack pre, or a soldano GTO supercharger

Early High on Fire (pre-"Blessed Black Wings") was Soldano SP77 into Carvin solid state PA. After that was SLO and other amps.

Best budget option is probably the Synergy SLO module.

Yeah was looking for an sp 77 but they are impossible to come by nowadays , I’ll check out the Amt for sure !

I thought he used his Matamp stuff from the Sleep days before going the Soldano route? Either way, the SLO box of some sort will get you there.

I thought acquiring a SLO did wonders for that band's sound. If I was spending your money, I would just buy a SLO.

Have a Matamp gt120 NMV on the way , so a SLO would hit my wallet hard lol he ran a sp77 through a 120 I believe for early high on fire . Sleep I think was straight up Matamp .
