I've been thinking about trying them. Anyone have experience with them?

I've got three, a Maximus that I like very much and two much more mellow ones powerwise that I don't like so much. That's more a function of me not liking low output pups instead of a bad pup.

Very nice guy to deal with; when a pup that he send me got lost in the mail somehow, he send me a new one at no charge.
Be prepared for a bit of waitingtime though, he seems to be a busy man

Thanks for the input guys! I've been looking to try an alternative to Duncan and Dimarzio, but most are just too expensive imho.

That was my intend too. I still love the Dimarzio Superdistortion (from which I swap the magnets to AlNiCo5, courtesy of Highorder) but the comparison with the Duncan's I've heard is, to my ears anyway, laughable. The Maximus is so much better it isn't even funny. Your mileage may vary of course

I have a Maximus that I put in the bridge of my LP. For the money, it's a great pup. It replaced an original Dimarzio Super Distortion from the 70s. I've since replaced the Maximus pup with a WCR Goodwood. Actually I'm running a WCR American Steele set now and couldn't be happier. Albeit, at a much higher price point.

I had a 8.3K Alnico in double creme and it was quite nice. I sold the guitar it was in though...
