I put a push pull pot in each of my fat strats. I thought about putting in a separate switch as it would be easier to switch, but that means drilling a hole in the pickguard.

The push pull pots I have found feel really cheap, the pot is a different size than standard and turns easier than a normal CTS pot. Do you they make push pull pots that have a larger disk like a standard pot?

Here is a picture of my guitars :D

You should go with a push/push, a lot easier to use than a push/pull IMO.

It's a huge gap in the market, CTS should better offer one quick, or someone else will.

Yeah, they are but they will only last a year. The clicking mechanisme inside doesn't really last so it wont stay in the "down" position.

Also, according to RS guitarworks there simply aren't high quality pp pots

Giga.

on the positive side, those mini switches won't harm the wood, so any change will be reversible by replacing the scratch plate.

I think mini switches look very important and 80s cool

Yea that is what I was reading too on the push push pots. Not reliable.

Its a shame there is not a good quality Push push or Push pull pot. Still not sold on installing a switch, even though it would be very easy to do....

Most Caparisons come with push/push pots and I've never had a problem with them. Never heard of anyone else having issues with them either?

Maybe they have a source that has high quality ones or they are custom made for them versus what we find at the stewmac and similar places. Its not like Caparisons are cheap guitars, so they could afford to put an expensive pot in their guitars....

I'd go with miniswitches. Not only are the positive acting, they'd be easier to rewire for something else or replace later.
