HNGD!!! After getting 3 less than spectacular guitars from MF, I contacted a local dealer cmcguitars.com. I have bought from them before and I've known the owner, Steve McQuaid for years. Not only did he match MF's price, he also had the frets rounded off(they were sharp) and did had a full setup done. On top of that, he drove the guitar 45 min to my house. You can't beat that kind of service. I changed the strings and tweaked the action a bit. Absolutely perfect!!! No issues at all with this guitar. I can't recommend this shop enough.

That's a great looking guitar there. Glad to hear you finally got one that plays as nice as she looks!

great!! so the guitar is cool, what did you get it for?

Yea every new 2016 charvel I tried had the frets popping off the side of the board, you could saw a 2x4 in half with one.

I've always stuck to the basic black or white colors for Charvels but the yellow So Cal version of this guitar is calling out to me :D

Seems to be a Mexi-Fender thing. My old EVH Bumblebee had the same problem.

Hmm, I think I'm gonna bail out on my preorder of one of these. :(

Love the specs on these. Almost got one but couldn't find a color I loved. Ended up ordering a Kiesel Bolt instead but these always tempt me.

Ugh. Mexi model, no wonder you had so many problems.
I would spend the extra money and get the USA everytime.
Actually, this mama feels pretty good. It definitely doesn't feel cheap like the striped series

All these neck issues are holding me back from ordering one..

Just order froms dealer that will work with you if there is a problem. You should be fine.

CMC guitars or Sweetwater will take the time to make sure the guitar is good before it ships

My USA '08 Charvel has fret ends poking me when the humidity drops. If the guitars were made in a warm humid climate, then sent to a cold or dryer climate, the frets will poke out. I guess I'll have the ends rounded at some point. But it happens to a lot of oiled maple necks.
