Wow!

Finalyl got to play a RG550 that was setup the way i like it. The thing shredded!

I want one now

I know a few of you have them out there.

The necks are so flat and wide and...thin! i think the specs were 17mm thick at 1st fret, 19mm at 12th so i have found out.

I have a guitar on its way soon, and if it doesnt work out, will sell and get one of these

Anyone else care to chime in?

What kind of setup do you like?

LOW action, 10-52's in Eb on that scale guitar.

I played it before my tech set it up and didnt think much of it. Then had a jam on it last ngiht after it was set up and WOW... loved it!

 Ibanez guitars are awesome for slammed action.

I still have mine for sale.

The neck is really easy to play but I prefer a little thicker neck that isn't completely flat, for some reason my hitch hikers thumb doesn't like flat necks

Hey, that was one thing i was so suprised about. COMPLETELY FLAT!!

I will check yours out. But not buying anything soon, spent a bit of money lately. All the gear is piling up at Juggernaughts house awaiting shipping to my country

If i do get a ibanez (with the same neck as the RG550) i will want the most 80's one imanginable.

Any idea's or pics?

Desert Yellow or Road Flare Red are the only ones worth getting. 80s FTW!

How about the Reissue RG550 in Desert Yellow or Road Flare Red

Also did you play the one with the AANJ (all access neck joint) or the bolt on plate

Looks like code beat me to it.

Hahaha yeah the desert yellow is awsome.

Im guessing the other one is the Orange one? Will go check it out.

Hmmmm...pretty sure it was just the normal bolt on one?

Whats a AANJ?

Also...what do they usually go for second hand in the States?

Whats a AANJ?

It's what the current Ibanez's have.

Heres a random pic of it

I know the reissues have the old type of neck joint and not the one pictured.

Used prices I've seen anywhere from 500-650 for older ones. Haven't seen too many reissues for sale lately though.

Interesting!

The one i played was a original one, that was restored by my tech.

Cool, not bad price, will cost the same if i get it in from the states, and will be more selection.
