Yeah the RFR is probably impossible to capture on camera

Sounds Like a wizard I neck. I love those necks. I have a RG 570, RG 770 and a RG 7420 and the necks are great. The tones are a bit lacking when compared to my other guitars(Hamer Sunburst, Carvin TL60, Peavey V-Type, Schecter 007 Elite) with fixed bridges. I also prefer a neck-thru or set neck.

I still have mine for sale.

The neck is really easy to play but I prefer a little thicker neck that isn't completely flat, for some reason my hitch hikers thumb doesn't like flat necks

Did I sell you my old Black one? Killer guitar that....set up nicely, even if I do say so myself!

Knew I had the pic still:

Yep I still have it amazingly, I don't usually go through too many guitars, most end up staying unless I haven't touched it for over a year

One of the few guitars I didn't even have to touch the truss rod to get the action really quite low...if I'd given that a minor tweak, I think it could've been nailed to the board.

Did you ever swap the Breed pickup out?

Nope, I was going to throw in a Aldrich, but I haven't touched that guitar for awhile since I've been playing mostly my Suhr and my Les Paul.

Wow!

Finalyl got to play a RG550 that was setup the way i like it. The thing shredded!

I want one now

I know a few of you have them out there.

The necks are so flat and wide and...thin! i think the specs were 17mm thick at 1st fret, 19mm at 12th so i have found out.

I have a guitar on its way soon, and if it doesnt work out, will sell and get one of these

Anyone else care to chime in?

Halford

I'm curious... Ever try a Washburn N4?

Hey, that was one thing i was so suprised about. COMPLETELY FLAT!!

I will check yours out. But not buying anything soon, spent a bit of money lately. All the gear is piling up at Juggernaughts house awaiting shipping to my country

If i do get a ibanez (with the same neck as the RG550) i will want the most 80's one imanginable.

Any idea's or pics?

Desert Yellow or Road Flare Red are the only ones worth getting. 80s FTW!

That is the one I have :)

I have a custom zebra in the bridge now and I ripped most of the finish off the neck, I can slam the action on it and it rips.

Hey man

Yeah i rerember when you got that.

Did you sand the neck down?

Yeah it was too thick.

:D

Took 0000 steel wool to the back and fretboard to give it some more slinky feeling.

RGs are fun to play, but cramp my hands up really fast. Give me a newer Charvel San Dimas any day of the week.

I have this one, great guitar. I put a Steve`s special in the bridge, and think the neck will get an Air Norton S :)

F**K! Thanks a lot, dudes, this thread gives me desire to take out my RG507 which has been living under my bed, in it's case, basically unused for two and a half years. :D :gethim: Frets are very worn and I get tennis elbow symptoms when playing that (or at least got in the past)...
