I played the BE100 again, yesterday, at GC in Dallas. They had the BE, SS, DS...just not the JJ, which I wanted to hear so bad!
Anyway, I tried lots of amps yesterday, Bogner, PRS Archon (nice amp), SLO, /13, Marshall HW, SLO...
The BE100 was my fav.
I was able to crank the gain on the BE channel to where it was perfect, back off the guitar volume for beautiful slight breakup sounds, and hit the HBE for over the top. I had the amp at the first of this year, but this one seemed sweeter to me. Probably just me, after having had several more amps. The clean channel is really good on this amp.
The SS was pretty nice, just a bit warmer.
The DS is a killer one-channel amp. They're all winners.
The guy working the platinum room says the JJ is the best of the bunch.
I gotta have one.

Sooooo, I just got one today, and it came with a 1-button footswitch. Only switches between channels
Did you get one with a 2-button footswitch? Is this a mod or something?

I guess I am confused. I knew the xtra knob was a mod. But, I've read here and elsewhere that the amp came with a 2-button footswitch to switch between gain modes.

This amp is incredibly nice and absolutely nails "that" tone.

Congrats Steve, seems to be a great amp. When you are referring to "that tone", which tone do you actually mean? I never listened to Alice in Chains much (nor other grunge bands), so might be a stupid question. What album would you recommend for getting Jerrys tone and playing? His solos stuff or AiC (earlier or later)?
