question.....I can hear up to 17k, but everything after 14k sounds MUCH softer to my ears. Does that make sense?

I'm all the way to 18k...I'll be 48 next month.

I just had a hearing test. I have tinnitus and I'm loosing a bit at 1-2k.
According to the audiologist the 2k loss is normal at my age.

AMAZING!!!! :hys:

I can hear up to 18k with earbuds, not much above 14k in my office on laptop speakers.

17k

Tested the same thing at school with a frequency generator, came close to 16k i believe...

That happens to be the predominant frequency of a woman's voice....
A gift from God, I'd say...lol

and for the record my iphone hears the test frequencies loud and clear through m audio dx4 speakers, so they are indeed there

17k on my $30.00 Logitech speakers, but not on my Bose headphones??!?

I pop in earplugs when the monitors or cymbals actually cause pain, but I've only been doing that a couple years. I usually wake up the next morning from practice with my head still ringing, so I guess I'm fortunate.

I can hear all of them including 18Khz... which is surprising, because i find that if im in a room full of people speaking, or if there is average/loud background noise.. i usually have trouble hearing a person talk to me!

That's because you lose the mids first , not the highs and the mids are where the human speach and consonants are.

I can't tell if I'm hearing 17K or tinitus

Note: you can "cheat" by raising the volume on your computer.

I hear 18k easily enough since I'm young, it's rather unpleasant though.

i can hear 15k fine, and can barely hear 16k... after that nothing. Shitty hearing and i'm only 26. :(

I heard 17 barely but didnt hear 16  For you guys that claim to hear 18, Im betting that youre either BS'ing or you routinely chase cars and mailmen as well as lick your own yambag..

17khz. But I hear when the 18khz STOPS. (so I kind of perceive it)

Same here. I hear when it starts and stops.

I hear 18 easily - should I be turning my speakers down to get a more accurate reading? Or doesn't that affect things?
