OK, since you said you're asking a sincere question I'll explain. First, no one could take the life of Jesus, and it was GOD who determined the time and place of Jesus's crucifixion. Jesus was in control, and his crucifixion was totally voluntary. He even said He lays down His life for His sheep.
As for pagan holidays, there are three common verses that explain such things, though it's more complicated when you weigh spiritual maturity and individual knowledge of GOD. Celebrating Easter or Christmas won't exclude anyone from salvation, but this is a requirement dropped for gentiles who are ignorant of Levitial laws.
Collosians 2:16, "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come;"
Romans 14, "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself."
1 Corinthians 10, "Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?"
Now, consider how Satanists do rituals on a pentagram with burning candles. Do you think using that ritual to worship GOD instead of satan would be OK? Of course not, and that's why the bible is full of instruction like:
Deuteronomy 12, "But when you have driven them out and settled in their land, and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.” You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods."
To understand it a little deeper, consider Exodus 23, "And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth."
So it's clear that not anything goes. We do not want to offend the weaker conscience of immature believers by partaking of things regarded for idols though to us, because there are no other gods, we can partake of many things since GOD created all things and we give thanks to Him.
Nevertheless, once a Saint (born again Christian) begins to mature spiritually and grows in the knowledge of GOD, they begin to conform to the image of GOD. As the bible says, a regenerate mind causes us to "love what GOD loves and hate what GOD hates." Not only that, guilt is recorded by our individual conscience so if we come to the knowledge of a certain pagan holiday, for example, and feel convicted about celebrating it then continuing to do so is a violation of conscience and therefore a sin.
