How do Celestion H30s sound compared to Creambacks?

They're usually refered to as G12H30
I have one in a Bogner 2x12 (matched with a V30)
Sounds good for now, can't say I've tested it extensively

Went with Business' recommendation and that's what I'm running in my 4x12 (G12H30/V30).

The G12H30 by themselves, have this perfectly thick midrange to them and a tight low end. It's been a while since I've tried them alone but that's what I recall.

The flip though is that the V30/H30 combo is so perfect that I'm surprised more manufactures are not loading their cabs up this way. EQ is so even across all spectrums and it really brings out the best in your playing. Very inspiring for sure.

Great combo for sure. I went to all broken in V30s in my Cameron 4X12 and they sound awesome with the KK++.

I used to not like V30's but I really do now. Well, broken in V30's.

That is all I knew from the time I had enough money to buy my own stuff. Used them with the Bogner 101b, Shiva, and Engl Savage, but my Dr Z 2X12 loaded with a V30/G12H30 70th Anny slayed with the Engl. Sounded like ass with the XTC 101B, but very good with the Shiva.

James i have a Marshall 1960BHW that is loaded with 4 G12H30 Heritage Speakers and i like it a lot. My only complaint is that the G12H Heritage seems a tad mushy in the low end & i like a lot of low end for the music i play. I have often thought about finding some barely broken in V30's and doing an X pattern but i can never seem to find clips that are closer toward the style i play.

That combo works great!!! My buddy has these in his Savage 4X12. I do not find them mushy when I had all 4 in the Marshall BHW. I did swap out two of the G12H Heritage 55s for a pair of G12H Heritage 75's. This combo rocks!!

Thanks man, i'll have to check this combo out. I'm saving for my wedding so funds are tight right now but if i can find some locally i will snatch them up.

FWIW I'm going blind/deaf into a custom Bogner 212C loaded with one of each Creamback - 75 and a 65. I'm not sure what to expect, but having seen that comparo vid that's out with the 212 cabinet loaded with one of each, I think they'd compliment each other nicely. I've had an older RL Diezel 412 that had the G12H speakers (Anniversary edition speakers??) in it. It was pretty soft sounding with a slight darkness. Can't say this was only the speaker as I am sure the RL versus a FL load would make a difference. But ya, they were somewhat polite and dark. Kinda like Mailman's boyfriends

I KEEEEED, I KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!! :hys:
