How do I hook up the G major properly to my parallel loop?

In a two channel mesa triple rectifier?

I believe the Killdry function should be turned on and I can only use delay/reverb/and chorus effects with no phase issues I believe?

Where do I set the send/return/mix levels?

I also want to use my Boss NS-2 to reduce noise...where should I run it? Thanks.

no one knows?

where do i set the loop too? what do i need to do to be able to use external switching for both channels and my fx loop.

There are a lot of variables .... like how you set up your amp, what kind of guitar / pickups, how hard you hit your strings, etc. There is no universal answer. Most or all of this is covered in the manual of the amp and effect. You really need to just take the time with the gear and manuals and find out what works for you best.

..... in other words only you can really decide these things.

I do not always set mine the same. :)

then how do you prefer it?

i am mainly concerned with safety/reliability issues regarding the grounding issue with the external switching and the parallel fx loop issues since g majors are designed to be used with serial loops traditionally...

I do set it up different depending on the application ...

Most of the time I set the amp as much as possible to a series loop .... 100% wet. I never have used the switching .... as I have other switchers. Then I just set up the effect like it is being used with a series loop. ..... But I recommend you try it both ways ... to see what works best for you.

You well hear the "flange" sound (side effect) when switching the way the G Major is set up. Just use your ears to find what you like.

The biggest problem most people have with the G Major is getting all the levels right on the individual effects in each preset. It can become quite a balancing act.

Once you spend some time with it it does not seem so complex to get control ..... a lot of people do not have much self control and get emotional with physical objects. Silly as this sounds .... we all do this sometimes.

what do you use for switching?

so can you give me the signal chain for how you hook it all up through the gcx with the g major, ground control pro, and amp for fx and channel switching?

I have about a dozen amps that I can switch in and out using one or two amps with my rack. In my rack there is a lot of pieces and I have about 50 foot pedals that can be swapped in and out and several different speaker cabs. I do not use it the same all the time. I use what is needed for the application. I am in 3 bands and play in small and large venues. My needs are not always the same.

All this stuff is in the amp and effects manual. I am not going to spend a hour explaining my rig when you already have all the information.

I can not stress this enough .... you need to spend the time with your gear and the manuals to learn how to use it for your needs. It may take days or weeks. That is what the rest of us did.

If you have a particular Q go ahead and ask.

I F*#king H A T E--- (Can't stress this enough)--- the loop in the Rectifier... Sorry.

BUT-- By default the G-Major is setup in Pro mode. You need to set it to Consumer mode, to feed an appropriate amount of signal to your G-Major's input. It won't sound as good as it would if you had a series loop.

You might try sending your line out signal to the G-Major and out of the G-Major back to your loop's return, but set the G-major to Consumer mode.

Hopefully this will help, a little
