It can't seem to get the bass from my rocktron prophesy like I want. Is there anything I can do to make this cab more bassy?

I always got my thump from the power amp I was using with my rack gear... like the depth knobs on my VHT or deep mode on my mesa 2/90/2...

I can eq my power amp and prophesy but the speakers (G12T-75) don't seem to be able to punch me in the chest like my friends cab. I've tried batting and it improved a little but not enough. I wonder if I need to sell the cab or get different speakers?

Celestions will only take so much low end via eq before they flap like flags in the wind. EVM 12 Ls may be your ultimate solution, and in a front loaded cab to boot.

Thanks... I believe I'll work on getting a different cab.

So you're given several good tips, and your takeaway is to get a new cab? Brilliant!

I can not seem to find it now but there is a cool video on you tube for some cheap basic upgrades.

Using a caulk gun to all the edges of the inside of the cab and some kind of centering of the big wooden beam to the back of the cab. I think there was something else he did to but again I can not seem to find the video, sorry.

Don't use regular caulk as it dries the fumes it releases eat some of the glues in the speakers (at least that is what I have heard)

I am kind of surprised that this was not mentioned, but what are your EQ settings? If you have too much bass, but not enough mids that is what I personally find will give you a lack of thump. Low mids are where it is at for thump
