How do I run a Boss HM 2?

I preordered an HM2. I know you basically dime all of the settings and run it through the clean channel of an amp. I'll be using it on the clean channel on my TC 100. Pardon my ignorance but I'm not a pedal guy yet LOL. My idea of a pedal setup is a noise gate and OD in front of a distorted amp. Do I run the HM2 in front of the amp's clean channel or do I run it in the loop?

For styles other than metal some people have had success with other settings depending on the amp ad how it is voiced. However, to get the tone its known for and to get the chainsaw sound, everything on 10 is the only way to go. Some of the originators of the sound sent it through an older Peavey solid state amp, mainly a Bandit or similar (Supreme etc).

If I want to use the HM-2 I prefer it through a Tube amp and a 4x12 and always set everything to 10. Two 4x12s are even better.

Experiment with different settings and I'd highly recommend using it in front of a dirty amp.

You can def run it into a power amp too, especially boosted.

The all settings to 10 is NOT how the dudes from Entombed ran it on stage, FYI. Run it into a slightly crunchy amp, play around with the settings. The blue channel on the TC might be better.

I like mine into a clean channel with a boost in front.

Run it as quickly as possible to your nearest dumpster.
