Was just wondering. I am about to pull the trigger on a 45/90W Electra Dyne head. How is it at low volumes with some FX in the loop? Usable?

I will have a band again someday soon but not right this moment, so it needs to remain neighbour friendly.

Someone?

I will/might buy in a few hours, so any info welcome.

I've tried it a couple of times and while it sounds pretty good at low levels, as with all tube amps they always sound better louder.

Same. I thought it sounded ok at moderate volumes. I like that amp a lot.

It sounds pretty good at bedroom volume. Just played one today at the shop for about an hour on the 45 watt setting. Gets all kinds of coments about how good it sounds at low volume but when it gets cranked its there.

It's definitely 'useable' at low volumes, but I wouldn't say it stands out at low volumes. As you crank it it really gives up the goods and sounds phenomenal. For me though, it didn't sound anywhere near as good as my Roadster, Mark III or Mark IV at low volumes.

That amp rules with an OCD through the clean channel (at all volumes). The drive channels at low vol are not great; in my opinion.

All right guys. Thanks for the info.

Anyone run it on EL34s? Hows it compare?
