whatever makes you happy. If you are responsible with your money and enjoy it the word too shouldn't exist. Its a safe hobby and cheaper than coke and strippers lol, at least you have tangible assets :)

I have about 20 guitars, 5 amps and 5 4x12's. I like having them around but I also haven't bought anything new as I feel I don't need anything nor do I really want the new latest and greatest pierce of gear. I want to downsize and have a bit but shit I'd like to get to six guitars two heads and 2 4x12's and maybe a combo but not having any motivation to see off shit :)

If you still have room to pile them up, then you don't have too many. :)

Usually my rule is if i want to buy something i have to sell something. Doesnt ALWAYS apply but i try.

This is kind of the way that I work as well.....I just don't have a need for 2 different amps hanging around.
That being said, he has an amazing collection and if that is what you like doing, then more power to you. I see nothing wrong with it. People collect all kinds of things and enjoy them. Nothing wrong with having similar things in your collection, either.

I think you get to a saturation point though somewhere along the line. In my case, I really only want one amp but I am quite content with having 4 guitars. Any more than that and I just don't feel they will get enough attention from me.

Generally, I don't think you have a problem. Your money = your choices.

However, the pic somewhat suggests to me you don't play these amps very often......are you really going to use all of those amps? Would the money be better invested in a 401k or unregistered investment that earns a return over time, versus being tied up in gear that rarely gets used and more often than not will depreciate over time?

Rule of thumb: If you haven't used it in 3 months, get rid of it.

That all having been said, I have my fair share of gear too, so who the hell am I to criticize? :D
