I love going back to HC, for years I worked with some mentally disabled and HC brings back a lot of memories.

There's a whole lot of gayness over there now...I'm surprised the whole forum let's about 10 totally off topic 'baby talk' guys run rampant.

I'm just getting sick and tired of posting the same damn help/advice over and over and over, and having people forget it, ignore it, or not "do their duty" to repeat some of the things (whether it's "YES YOUR TUBES CAN BE BAD, CHANGE THEM!!!" or "NO YOU CANNOT REPLACE FUSES WITH TIN FOIL!!!" or "BIAS YOUR DAMN AMP!!!" or "DUTY IS SEPARATE FROM BROKERAGE AND TAXES!!!" etc. etc. etc.) And I positively love it when some n00b actually tries to argue something with me that I know I'm right about and he has zero experience with. Whereas you figure by now more people on the forum would understand some of these things, it seems less and less of them do, faster and faster these days. I wonder why I even bother anymore.

And with my getting into OD pedals lately, as well as messing with my pickups further (and coming up with a great combination in the process, something very unusual), I was about to post more...but now I figure screw it, they'll just ignore half of what I say, misquote me, or ask me questions about unrelated things that are more popular just because I happen to be giving out information that makes sense at the time (after all, I must know everything about every conceivable piece of gear on the planet if I seem to be making any sense, right?)

I'm not bitter at all. Nope.

So compared to that, the off topic threads...I don't even pay attention to them. They are what they are, and I never have paid them any mind.

It is a shame that most of the technical experts, like yourself have been put off by HC's descention into Junior High antics.

Maybe someone should post a sign reading "Will the last musician to leave HCAF please turn off the lights?"

It is nice of you to share your knowledge to help people out...and in turn hopefully they think of you when they are looking for a great amp.

I'm going to have to be there a lot less though, because I just can't take the stupidity like I used to. I certainly don't expect people to fall to their knees and worship me when I post words of advice, but it seems my efforts aren't helping anyone. Most of the time the person asking for help already made up his mind that he's going to do something, and wants people like me to appear to say "great idea!", so when I appear and give advice to the contrary, all I get are arguments. Sometimes it's over a matter of $40, or just their pride for not wanting to think of trying something different. If anyone's been learning anything from me there, I'd be surprised, because I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall.

Now that I have been playing for 36 years and my father fixed amp in our basment when I was a kid{so I played threw a lot of different amps}. I'm still looking all the time (been wanting to check out one of yours since 2001 Mister Peters). The web is a great place for this. And the help I have gotten from you' all. Thank you for that. Most people read and do not post , so your helping a a lot of people. Glad to see people like you around here. Tin foil ? Thats a good idea.

Thank you, Stephen! I tend to forget how many people lurk and do not post, and how those people may tend to learn from a post with good advice rather than immediately argue with it. (A lyric from Wide Mouth Mason is on my mind at the moment: "You're wrong but you're louder than me, so you win but you're still wrong..." :))

I'll just have to learn to post what I would, then walk away irrespective of what's happening around me.

I havent bothered with that shithole since Rig-Talk was started up!

That is a problem, the fools at HC are the first to post.
You forget that probably over 75% of people reading the thread are actually intelligent, cool people you'd want to discuss things with.

On a side note of HC...I recently purchased a Tonelab LE and I thought it had excess hum, so I posted over at the Tonelab forum....instant help, great people. Same with the Carvin forum when I bought a Legacy amp, great people and support over there.
HC seems to be it's own silly little entity now. It's an embarrassment compared to every other amp forum I've been to. I only sort of care because I used to really like that place.

Hey James, I have a Fab that I'm modding. Can I get a schematic for your Polaris Channel? :D

Check your mail. If it's ticking, don't worry. Just open it anyway, as close to your face as possible. :)

I hang out in both , I like this place but alot times I get more responses in HC , but then again I ask alot of effects questions but here on Rig there dont seem to be alot of interest in effects .
The thing is with Amps you can only buy a amp once in awhile being there so dam, expensive .case in point I just bought a JVM several months ago , Im not going to buy a EVH anytime soon , cant afford it , but I will buy pedals and stuff.
But all in all this is a cool forum too.
