hound craigslist or check it on a fairly regular basis looking for killer deals?? have you ever gotten one??

I keep reading about people making these INSANE scores off of CL. Like one guy on another forum got an ibanez K7 for $200. i think they're like well over $1000 even used.

so, i book marked my local craigslist music instrument page and i've been checking it fairly regularly for the last 2 days and so far, nothing that cool. i'm in a big city so something cool should pop up eventually.
In the past 2 weeks I have gotten a 1989 ibanez RG550 for $150 of of CL.. I got the MXR EVH Flanager with Adaptor for $60 at a pawn shop and a brand new Marshall Vintage Modern 4x12 with the new Greeenback G12C's from GC for $400, I then traded the MXR Flanger for 3 Tom Anderson Pickups (worth $125 each) and a super 5 way switch

found a dsl halfstack for 800 OBO last night. to bad I dont like them.

I don't usually do it for gear here much. I have for tickets to sporting events several times though and have come out pretty good. You really have to be patient(and quick when its tickets to sold out games). But good deals are there to be had.

found my 2 lexi 200s for less than 100 each on craigs list, my stage monitors and pa bins were huge deals as well.
real hit or miss with alot, but here on long island you do get some great deals

I'm getting kinda sick of the tire-kickers tho

This happens to me quite a bit on CL. People say they will buy your item, then when it comes time to arrange a time to pick it up, they all of a sudden are nowhere to be found

Yep, tire kickers suck. If you're going to contact someone and say you're interested don't waste people's time.

I found an original Gibson LP TV model 1957 for $200. Customer said the paint was cracked, it had rust and no strings. Hate gibsons, but made a nice profit selling it. Over $8K

That's a nice day's work, you lucky bastard :D

I had one of my Dual Rec's up for sale on CG...ended up trading it plus $1000 cash (Canadian) on my end for a mint VHT Pittbull Ultra Lead. I've had some other decent deals but nothing extraordinary.

I've made some good sales on there though. Like this reverb unit I had, an old MasterRoom MicMix. Got $700 for it. All profit.

Portland CL I check it everytime I get on the computer. The best deal so far has been a Mint (not a mark on it) Soldano Hot Rod 50+ $750, sold it for $1250.

I don't check it that much but recently sold a Les Paul on it locally. I made a little profit so that was cool, and I didn't have to ship it so that was awesome.

I did get an email from a guy offering $500 less that what I was asking for. I emailed him back and told him that his offer eas insulting and to not email me again. That shit pissed me off. Especially when I sold it for exactly what I was asking for in town.

What really pisses me off is when some makes an insulting offer without even seeing the guitar or amp!!!

I used to....and check it probably every other day...but lately there have been a lot of fake gibsons and Jems on my local one. You have to be careful and know what you are doing.

Picked up a rare Trace Elliot MP11 bass preamp on CL. Found it on the Detroit CL, I'm in Atlanta. Good seller, transaction and price. Found an ADA MP-2 preamp with noise mod for a good price, its the only ADA gear I have left (I had 3 other MP-2s, and 3 MP-1s, B200S, 2x12 splitstacks and bass stack - all gone - sold the ADA bass rig on CL.

Hit or miss in Atlanta.
